About 1818 Auctioneers

The history of 1818 Auctioneers stretches back nearly 200 years to the auction of chattels in Kendal’s market hall. We now work from our purpose-built offices and saleroom just off the M6 at the J36 Rural Auction Centre but our approach is still as friendly and professional as ever.

We have a team of experts who thrive on the excitement of a live auction and work hard to make the buying and selling experience accessible and fun.

What to expect from 1818 Auctioneers

All of our auctions are now held in the purpose-built saleroom, which is light and airy but has air conditioning and central heating to make sure we are a comfortable retail environment whatever the Lake District weather!

Here are our highlights:

  • Professional, knowledgeable and helpful staff
  • Large FREE car park
  • FREE pre sale advice
  • Secure pre sale storage
  • Easy loading and unloading
  • Members of the Society of Fine Art Auctioneers and Valuers
  • Large screen relay of lots as they are auctioned
  • An inviting café just across the corridor
  • A range of services including professional valuations and house clearances
