The auction house is busy growing a specialism in vintage books and antiquarian books and volumes. The department is supported by expert valuer, Rob Kerr, and you can expect to see a strong, interesting selection of lots every few weeks in our weekly auctions of antiques, vintage, collectable and clearance items.

Rob is also working closely with our lead auctioneers, creating a new section for higher value volumes within our popular two-day auctions of antiques, collectables and curios held on the first Monday and Tuesday of the month on a bimonthly basis.

Highlights may include: William Gilpin’s 18th Century, two-volume illustrated ‘Observations, relative chieply to Picturesque Beauty, made in the year 1772, on several parts of England; particularly the Mountains and the Lakes of Cumberland and Westmorland’; seven folio volumes of ‘The Statutes at Large, Containing all the Public Acts of Parliament &C, London: 1734-1759’; a selection of signed Alfred Wainwright volumes; or a first edition of Arthur Ransome’s ‘Swallows and Amazons’.

Rob is always on hand for expert advice and can provide fair and accurate assessments of condition and estimated value.
