Hammer highlights from the Fine Pictures and Prints including Lakes and Contemporary Art 10, which ended on Sunday 20th June.
Lot 864, a fine watercolour by local artist Geoffrey H Pooley, sold well, reaching a price that previously Pooley watercolours regularly made when they were more in fashion.
This sold at £300. Considering it was purchased at a local car boot sale, this shows the importance of a specialist market place to sell.
Lot 861, a watercolour by Baragwanath King – expect he had a fun time at school with that name – with a view of Ullswater, sold at £140.
These two lots show that there is still strong interest in Lakeland pictures.
Lot 819, an interesting print by Fisher of the Queen Mary ship, found a buyer at £95.
