The buoyant trade continued for quality antiques with lot 564, a 19th Century Regency style settee of wide proportions having shaped back, on eight mahogany tapered legs, making top price of the evening at £720.

Interesting and unusual pieces are always sought after with £620 being the price for lot 472, a Georgian mahogany secretaire chest on chest with later carvings and the same price was achieved for lot 688, an interesting and unusual Victorian mahogany washstand, having cut out and recessed sections to top, central frieze and two dummy drawers on fluted legs and brass casters.

With the April showers making the grass grow again it was no surprise that there was interest for lot 717, A Honda 2113 Hydrostatic ride-on lawnmower, which sold for £420.

Other highlights included lot 671, a 19th Century oak glazed display cabinet, originally used as a shop display for fishing rods (Farlowes) which sold for £330.

A good selection of modern pine was also on offer and sold for reasonable prices, there were fewer vintage items on of than of late, but with 400 lots in the next auction, which ends on 9th May there is certain to be something for everyone and the latest step in the roadmap means that viewing is allowed, though booking is advised and we are still limiting numbers to maintain social distancing.
